Spray Tanning is a popular beauty treatment which is fast
growing as people become more aware of the damaging effects
of the sun and UV rays. With the right solution and
professional application it is possible to get a natural
looking, flawless tan with no streaks and without the
dreaded 'orange' look that many people are nervous of.
How does it work?
The tanning solution contains DHA or
Dihydroxy Acetone which is a
naturally occurring sugar. It is used as a sweetener
in many products and its tanning ability was first
discovered when a nurse accidentally spilt cough medicine
onto a child's face, staining the skin! An HVLP system is
used to spray a mixture of tanning solution and air directly
onto the skin which will then develop over the following 5 -
7 hours into a lovely, natural looking tan.
How long does it last?
The honest
answer is 4 to 14 days depending on your skin type and skin
care regime, but it typically lasts 5-7 days. Lasting time
for any tan is very much down to how you maintain it, your
skin type as well as the type of spray used. Because
Tanning Solutions only affect the top layer of
skin, the tan cannot always outlast the natural exfoliation
process.
Does It Smell?
many people
can't smell the product whatsoever, whilst others are able
to detect a very mild pleasant smell. There is
such negligible overspray you will not find the smell
disagreeable. The smell also doesn’t linger long on the
skin.
What if I have very pale skin?
No problem!
We cater for all skin types!
What if I have sensitive skin?
People with
sensitive skin need not despair! because we use natural
based solutions, there is no alcohol or perfumes to irritate
sensitive skins. the solution has fantastic hydrating
properties which actually help many sensitive skins.
However, if in doubt we always suggest a patch test first.
What if I am Pregnant?
We don’t
recommend that pregnant women in the first trimester receive
any spray tanning. There is nothing dangerous in our
solutions at all, however during these times hormone levels
can alter quite dramatically and could cause a patchy tan to
develop on some women, whilst others become sensitive to
different products when pregnant - so this advice is a
general precaution.
What if I have a
skin condition?
Spray tanning
should not be carried out if you suffer from bad eczema or
psoriasis or if you have open wounds, cuts or grazes.
Will it make
a mess?
The tanning
process is carried out in a purpose made pop-up cubicle.
There is very little overspray from the process and this is
contained by the tent. There will be no coating of
furniture, carpets etc.
